Priceless

In the gothic structure, in its premise
Numerous artifacts, there lies
Most of them, broken & shapeless,
There is a price for being timeless.

Slowly you stalk, 'cause you need to observe,
Only then you would see how antiques serve,
Now they get extinct and go useless,
There is a price for being timeless

Narrating memoirs, silent and loud,
Smell is how they communicate, humbly proud,
Passerby is deaf for the explanations are Voiceless
But there is always a price for being timeless.

Was that my heart or museum i was talking about,
Well, nevertheless, who cares when you didn't hold,
Someday, after a long time, you would be ageless,
You may visit my heart, and find yourself priceless

On the edges of expression lies the intellectual feelings.
Where expressions are about thoughts, and not of impulsive throws of anger, reaction, and regrets.
When each interaction of words builds up a pyramid of solid support,
And we leave a legacy of stability and security.

And Then She Came

Unaware of the world, I sailed
I was always searching, for my flame
I don't know reason, but I failed
And then she came

Fear and curiosity, drove me
Feelings whirled, that I can't name
Butterflies fluttered in stomach
And then she came

Raging the war with myself
Was it she or me, to blame?
Finding no solution I felt,
Was I being lame?

She slowly stopped showing up
Trying to fill the void again,
But her memories attacked me time and again
I was not the same

Escaping through getting busy
Making me workoholic, damn!!
People calls me crazy, but i forget,
Coz lifes just a game..

Diving Deep

When you take a dive into the new worlds that books create in your mind, the dancing and singing characters in them, somehow, percolate into you. Some part of them, hires a place in you, and start living in you. You may forget the plot, important details, but you'll never let go of the part of their character that has percolated inside you.

I mean when you read Sherlock Holmes you start deducing and analyzing stuff around you. Though you are not blessed with those gifted mental faculties, you want to draw big conclusions from scanty available information. The things around you suddenly become very interesting. At least in your mind.

When you read God of Small Things, the quietness of the brokenhearted Estha gets into your personality. And at the end you get confused whether to be happy about the wild night of Ammu and Velutha's love making, so beautifully depicted, or get disgusted by the societal rules that destroyed not only the lives of lovers but also the twins. Also your insecure, fearful and childish self resurfaces.

When you read Shantaram, you feel like life is a collection of beautiful experiences, each of which is worth experiencing and sharing. You  get to feel the many experiences of Gregory David Roberts, just by reading the book. And you wish to go to the Leopold someday just to discuss philosophy with the beautiful Karla or the mafia king Khaderbhai.

When you read The Alchemist, your conviction towards your dreams becomes stronger. Your heart starts speaking the language of the universe and you want to listen to it. You start believing in your dreams and start following them. This itself changes the way we see things. We start connecting the occurrence of some small event with our huge dreams, and in a strange way, it aligns us even more to that dream and its realization.  Even a small event like getting a ride to somewhere and reaching there safely makes you believe that it is all Maktub, that these things are happening to you, everything is written.

Tuesdays with Morrie helps you get wise. You start understanding what things matter and what do not. The book says that you won’t remember the presentations that you make but the smiles that you bring on the faces of your family and friends. And how to make peace with yourself just by forgiving yourself first and then the people around you.

When you read The Fountainhead, you become least bothered about what others may think about your actions. You start focusing on yourself. You do what you want to and not what you are supposed to. That is the real freedom that one can experience.

When you read about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, you become comfortable with your small awkwardness and start cherishing the small brain you have unlike the ingenious Lisbeth. It’s lovely to know about such interesting people, who just by sitting at their laptops can control computers and servers across the continents.

It is altogether a new experience to read Harry Potter. In the fantasy world, you get into an adventure to fight against he-who-cannot-be-named. The ways and the means, the helps and the betrayals, the friends and the foes. You can connect with almost everything. You start thinking that the person you are talking to might be considering you a Muggle. And believe, someday, you might have found a Platform Nine and Three-Quarters but were fired with the Obliviate charm and so you don't remember anything about it. A sentence I believe in, from an author I admire sums it all up:

“I don't believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.”
 J.K. Rowling

PS:- Please do me a favour by posting about books, that you dived in, or should I say the character that dived deep into your character.

Careless. Carefree. How will I care!

Spring time. Cool oceanic breezes. 23 hours have passed since I last slept. I’m lying on my back on the floor of the terrace of an 8 storey building. Puffing a black. Loosening up with every smoke cloud I blow. It’s a full moon night. Light clouds move sluggishly over the moon, or maybe under – probably under. Slow and uninterrupted. They are stationary and you are not. You are relieved from every problem and every manacle. You don’t feel like moving at all. You want to lie there forever and ever and ever. Your head is spinning. You put all your efforts into staying awake. Your heart is pumping. You are alive… I am alive.

Nobody in the world is as free and as unbounded as I am.

Thinking about life.
Bharuch. Surat. Baroda.

The way it was. The way it is. And the way it will be.

Careless. Carefree. How will I care!

A place where I didn’t know how stuff works and never cared if they worked.
A place where the reason for not going to class was just plain drowsiness.
A place where I don’t get paid if I don’t work.

For some moments, I am so lost in my own thoughts that I totally forget that someone is there just beside me. He seems desperate to get a girl. I blabber what Google suggests. For me, nothing in the world matters anymore. I am happy and content with what I am and what I have. I think it is okay to be anybody. It is okay to be a nobody in college. It is okay to be rude. It is okay to live life as you want to. It is okay to be confident. It is okay to be happy. I sometimes deserve happiness.
I have not achieved anything commendable, yet, that doesn’t mean that I won’t achieve them now. The cigarette kick is receding. I find that I am thinking that I will do great at Baroda. I am suddenly more focused and aligned in my thoughts.

And, suddenly, I am back to normal. I stand on the top of the college. I look at the sleeping city; hear the cock-a-doodle-doo of a rooster far, far away. The black sky has a bluish hue. It is morning again. I must get some sleep now.

MIGHT EVEN GIVE HER AWAY

A smile on her face,

Love in her eyes, you find at no place,

Behind the head, there is a plait of hair,

The face is oval, completion so fair,

And peace in her lap, and care in her gaze...

She was the witness of my crest and troughs,

I was tolerated in my bests and roughs,

My thoughts gravitated towards her in the lonely starry nights,

All of our nostalgic memories usher me to wobbling kites.

Plodding ahead in time,

Pining for love, so sublime,

I ruefully think about the day,

when I

MIGHT EVEN LOSE HER...
